“Drumline: A New Beat” Delivers 3.3 Million Viewers

Last night’s premiere of the highly anticipated VH1 Original Movie “Drumline: A New Beat,” did not miss a beat drawing in 2.4 million total viewers and averaging a 1.4 in the key Adult 18-49 demo during its 9PM* premiere.  When combined with the 11:30PM* encore, 3.3 million total viewers tuned in to watch the Atlanta A&T drumline burn up the field Monday night.

Drumline: A New Beat Set to Premiere October 27th

VH1’s upcoming original movie Drumline: A New Beat, produced in partnership with Fox Television Studios, and executive produced by the original film producers Wendy Finerman, Dallas Austin and Jody Gerson, along with Nick Cannon, will premiere Monday, October 27th at 9PM ET/PT. The original film was produced by Fox 2000. The telefilm is the next project in the network’s successful original movie initiative, kick started by 2013’s CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, which generated record-breaking ratings and tremendous viewer response.

Nick Cannon Sets 'Drumline' Sequel at VH1

VH1 has greenlit TV movie “Drumline: A New Beat,” with Nick Cannon on board to co-star and exec produce. “A New Beat” is a sequel to 2002 feature film “Drumline,” and will begin lensing this spring with a fall 2014 debut in mind.
