Lady GaGa’s New Album Is ‘Utter Liberation,’ Producers Info Leaked

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Lady GaGa’s next studio installment is sure to become one of the highly-anticipated albums next year and people have been trying to get info about it. The singer herself was very careful not to spill too much beans, only saying in a recent interview with i-D magazine that “it’s utter liberation.”

“The new album is my absolute greatest work I’ve ever done, and I’m so excited about it,” she explained more. “The message, the melodies, the direction, the meaning, what it will mean to my fans and what it will mean to me in my own life. … I’m on the quest to create the anthem for my generation for the next decade, so that’s what I’ve done.”

What GaGa has said apparently did not satisfy the curious minds. In fact, it made them crave for more and they might have satisfy their hunger in a piece of document which is claimed to reveal those lined up to lend helping hands for the upcoming project.

David Bowie appears on the list, fueling the duet rumor which has been swirling on the web for quite sometime. Other possible contributors include acclaimed music makers such as Darkchild, Teddy Riley, Fernando Garibay, Rodney Jerkins and of course her longtime collaborator RedOne. The songs she possibly has recorded, meanwhile, are “Hooker on a Church Corner”, “You and I” and “Far From Me”.

Lady GaGa Leads 2010 MTV VMAs Nominations List With 13 Nods

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Lady GaGa dominates this year’s nominations list of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. The “Poker Face” hitmaker is vying in 13 categories, including the top honor Video of the Year. This makes her break the MTV record by becoming the singer with the most nominations in a single year.

Calling the event Video Monster Awards, GaGa tweeted after learning her domination, “13 VMA noms lilmonsters. Breakin records+breakin rules. I love you, you Bad Kids are a part of me. PAWS UP!” She additionally issued a statement, “I’m so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history.”

“Ironically, I’m even more proud it’s an unlucky number: 13. A long time ago, the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard. Together we changed the rules. God put me on Earth for three reasons: to make loud music, gay videos and cause a damn raucous. Thank you, MTV!”

Following GaGa’s domination is Eminem. The rap mogul scores eight nods, including Video of the Year where he is facing off GaGa, Florence and the Machine, B.o.B and 30 Seconds to Mars. Commenting on his multiple bids which are topped by GaGa, he jokingly said, “Apparently, MTV doesn’t care that I have two massive stadium shows on the other side of the country the day after the VMAs. F me, right?!?! I mean, I’ll be there, but don’t expect me to be nice about it.”

The other musicians who have more than one chance to win a coveted trophy at the prize-giving event include Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z, Katy Perry, Usher, Drake, Jason Derulo, Muse, Pink and Ke$ha. The award which will be given to this year’s best newcomer is to be handed either to Ke$ha, Derulo, Nicki Minaj, Broken Bells or Justin Bieber.

“Just found I was nominated for Best New Artist at the VMA’s! WOW!!” Bieber wrote on Twitter shortly after learning the news. “I remember walking the red carpet last year and no one knew my name.” In line with Bieber’s excitement, Ke$ha is also grateful, writing “Holy s**t!!!!!!!!3 VMA nominations…!!! I don’t even know what to say. I’m so grateful and thankful and stunned and excited. I can’t even put into words actually how much this means to me; ) thank you to every single one of my fans.. !!!!!!!! I’m f**king losing my s**t. I’m so stoked!!!!!”

Minaj also offers her excitement, saying “I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven. I definitely thought I’d get one someday, but not before I put the album out. I never thought I’d get a nomination [this year]. … I didn’t even think I’d get invited!”

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12 at 9 P.M. ET/PT. Host, presenters and performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Fans can vote for the winners at vma.mtv.com.

Lady GaGa Wants Little Monsters to ‘Pray’ for Her Concert Protesters

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Lady GaGa is upset when she found out that her Little Monsters were met by protesters from Westboro Baptist Church during her Monster Ball concert in St. Louis on Saturday night, July 17. She quickly wrote on Twitter to reach out to her devotees.

“At the risk of drawing attention to a hateful organization,” she tweeted that day, “I would like to make my little monster fan aware of a protest being held outside the Monsterball in St.Louis tonight. Although we have had protesters before, as well as fundamentalists at the show.”

People from the extremist group lined up outside the concert venue, holding signs which read “God hates Lady Gaga.” They also accused the singer of teaching “rebellion against God,” writing “There appears to be little to no hope for her, but who is to say what is doing with the souls of those who may be swarming to listen to your less-than-beautiful singing program?”

GaGa fought back, calling them “hate criminals.” She added, “[They] preach using lude and violent language and imagery that I wish I protect you all from. Their message is of hatred and divisiveness, but inside at the Monsterball we preach love and unity.”

She firmly said that the protesters are a group of “violent and dangerous” people and urged her devotees not to be provoked. She wrote, “Don’t waste your words, or feelings, no matter what you hear or see. you are more fortunate and blessed than they are, and in your heart just pray for them.”

The concert went ahead as planned despite the protesters presence outside the building. Concerning this matter, she declared her victory, “Love and hate met in St. Louis. And love outnumbered the hate, in poetic thousands. Hate left. But love stayed. + Together, we sang.”

Lady Gaga Banned from Yankee Clubhouse

Monday, June 21st, 2010

She’s persona non Gaga.

A fuming Hal Steinbrenner informed Yankee Stadium executives that Lady Gaga is permanently banned from the team’s clubhouse after her boozy antics — including swigging whiskey and repeatedly fondling her boobs — during a visit to the house that Ruth built Friday night, sources told The Post.

The songstress and two girlfriends sauntered their way into the Bombers’ clubhouse — without team approval — and hung out for 30 minutes after the team lost to the Mets.

She met six players — including Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano — while the “Poker Face” singer kept slurring her words trying to say how much she loved the Yankees and how thrilled she was to be inside the exclusive area, sources said.

Gaga, drinking Jameson Irish Whiskey, was wearing a Yankees jersey half-unbuttoned, exposing her black bra, fishnet stockings and a bikini bottom.

But apparently she didn’t think that was enough to catch the players’ eyes, so she kept groping her chest over her jersey.

The show inside the clubhouse was news to Yankees brass.

Hal, who is co-chairman with brother Hank, club president Randy Levine, general manager Brian Cashman and manager Joe Girardi all had no idea she was going to show up, sources said.

In fact, when a Post reporter told Cashman about Gaga’s presence, Cashman said, “What? I didn’t know that,” and stormed off.

Sources said Gaga, who left through a private exit, smooth- talked her way past stadium security.

The bizarre incident was the 24-year-old raunchy songstress’ second recent run-in at a baseball game.

Gaga, who has called herself a lifelong Yankee fan, caused a spectacle at Citi Field on June 10.

She showed up in the fifth-inning and threw a tantrum when she was seated in the front-row.

After cursing out nearby photographers, she forced the team to move her to Jerry Seinfeld’s luxury box.

Then she flipped off the Flushing crowd with both fingers after swilling beers.

Second Official Teaser of Lady GaGa’s ‘Alejandro’ Music Video

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Another sneak peek to Lady GaGa’s highly-anticipated music video for her single “Alejandro” is put out. It contains similar scenes, featured on the first teaser which was revealed on “Larry King Live”, with new additional footage intercepted in between.

Directed by Steven Klein, the music video has “homoerotic military theme” and is going to be premiered on June 7. GaGa told Larry King earlier this week, “It is a celebration of my love and appreciation for the gay community, my admiration of their bravery, their love for one another and their courage in their relationships.”

In further statement, she explained, “I can speak for myself in that my admiration comes from an incredibly steadfast and joyful courage and bravery they have for one another and their community. To be gay and live openly in this society requires tremendous strength. … I admire it and envy it in some ways. It’s something that, as a woman, I don’t always wholeheartedly possess.”

Lady GaGa’s ‘Alejandro’ Music Video Gets Official Premiere Date

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

After a hint revealed in a live concert over the weekend that Lady GaGa’s “Alejandro” music video is coming out sooner than later, it is now confirmed that the highly-anticipated clip is scheduled to make its debut next week. In a forum on the singer’s official website, the video is announced to come out Monday, June 7.

On top of that, a sneak peek to give glimpse at what GaGa has to offer in this Steven Klein-directed clip is planned to be brought forward when she visits “Larry King Live” on June 1 at 9 P.M. ET / 6 P.M. PT. Also joining her on the talk show are this season’s “American Idol” finalists.

In a previous interview with The Times, Lady GaGa unraveled the video concept. She said, “It’s a celebration and an admiration of gay love – it confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together. I’ve been unable to find that with a straight man in my life. In the video I’m pining for the love of my gay friends – but they just don’t want me.”

In another occasion when having a chat with SHOWStudio, GaGa talked about her upcoming studio album. She shared, “My new album that I’m creating, that is finished pretty much, was written with this new instinctual energy. My fans protect me, it’s now my destiny to protect them.”

Of any collaboration she is doing for the upcoming release, she said that she has none. “I don’t want to do any collaborations, especially contemporary ones. I want to stand on my own two feet. This new album is my chance to create what in 20 years will be seen as my iconic moment. That’s what you should always aim at.”

She furthermore explained her vision for the record, “I’m much more self aware of my spiritual and leadership qualities, in the way that any artist is a leader. I don’t think that sex and drugs and talking about things openly are wrong or bad, but I think the most terrible thing you can do is be prejudiced. In my career I am most emphatically against prejudice. I guess I would say that it how I lead my fans, through my music in that way.”
