Nick Talks Ditch Fridays, Spinning & More

Last night Nick took over the Palms Pool as he helped with their season finale of their Ditch Fridays party. But prior to getting the party started Nick chatted with the Las Vegas Sun. Check out below about what he had to say on DJing, favorite summer music and more.

You’re DJ’ing the season-closing party at Ditch Fridays at Palms Pool on Friday, Sept. 11. What can fans expect from your set?

Fans should expect to have fun partying and good times.

Do you prefer to DJ inside at nightclubs or outdoors at dayclubs?
I don’t have a preference. As long as I can spin, I’m good anywhere. I’m just blessed to be doing one of the things I’m passionate about.

How would you describe your DJ’ing style, and do you have any DJ inspirations?
My DJ style is like Jazzy Jeff, and I am inspired by, as a DJ, Biz Markie.

What are your top and favorite songs of summer?
My top favorite songs this summer are “Classic Man” by Jidenna, “Sexy Gal” by Kreesha Turner, “The Way” by Kehlani, “Same Old Love” by Selena Gomez, “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd, “Locked Away” by R. City featuring Adam Levine and “Hey Mama” by David Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack.

Do you have any tips for staying cool while DJ’ing in the summer desert heat of Las Vegas?
One tip to staying cool on the DJ set is drink lots of water!

You’ve been a regular Las Vegas performer in multiple capacities over the years. What’s the appeal of Las Vegas for you?
The Las Vegas appeal is the sexiness of the show business.

I recently interviewed Christina Milian, your co-star in 2003’s “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” Any plans for movies? TV and music?
You never know what the future holds!

You’re a Renaissance man — music, TV, film, comedy. Is there one that you like a little more than the rest?
If I had to choose, it would be comedy, but I love it all.

Robin Leach, my reporter of seven years, has talked about a “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous” redux with you as host. Any update on that?
Robin and I shot a few scenes together, but we are still in the production stages.

What is on your must-do/must-see list while you’re in Las Vegas?
Seeing my children.
