Nick Cannon Signs Piggy to Benefit A Child’s Place

Nick has joined the ranks of fellow celebrities such as singers Carrie Underwood, Anthony Hamilton and real estate mogul and reality tv star Donald Trump who have signed piggy banks for A Swine Evening. A Swine Evening is an annual celebrity piggy bank auction benefitting A Child’s Place. Founded in 1989, A Child’s Place is a collaborative effort between the Charlotte, NC community and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). Their services focus on the children, making sure they have the things they need to succeed in school: from clothing and shoes that fit to necessary school supplies to medical and dental care to tutors for children who are behind grade level and more. They also work with homeless parents to identify the appropriate nonprofit and government resources to resolve the issues which created their homelessness. The number of homeless students attending CMS schools has risen to 4,922. A Child’s Place is the only CMS partner working specifically with homeless students. During the 2011-12 school year, A Child’s Place helped 2,228 homeless children in Mecklenburg County.
