Over the weekend my wife and I attended the Project C.A.N.V.A.S shoe auction gala in New York. The event was a huge success, and some of the great shoes up for auction included kicks by my wife with Crystal Icing as well as shoes by Cee-Lo with Mikael Colombu and designs from Mr. Brainwash, Audemars Piguet, Swizz Beatz, Ellen DeGeneres plus many more! Check out pictures from the event below, as well as me talking to Jimmy Fallon about my own Project C.A.N.V.A.S sneakers.

100% of the proceeds raised from the event were donated to the Urban Arts Partnership, a non-profit organization that guides students in New York City's public school system through art programs. Visit ProjectCanvasShoes.com to learn more about the brand and to get more detail on the auction.

You can also catch us on EXTRA tonight at 7PM on NBC as we talk about Project C.A.N.V.A.S from the red carpet.

Which pair of shoes are your favorite?

I’m so excited to be hosting the Project C.A.N.V.A.S x Urban Arts shoe art auction in NYC this Friday! Our goal is to raise money and awareness for art programs in NYC schools, which are suffering due to budget cuts.

Project C.A.N.V.A.S (CAN Visually Achieve Success) encourages people to use their imagination to create one-of-a kind shoes that showcase their individual style and personality. The company views life like a canvas, believing that anyone can make their life a masterpiece one day, or brushstroke at a time. Find out more about Project C.A.N.V.A.S here.

If you're in the New York area this Friday and would like to attend, follow Project C.A.N.V.A.S on Twitter, then let me know by re-tweeting me or leave comments in the comment section. I'll be sending invites to a few of you myself!

lupusfoundation

Me with Lupus Foundation Chair Karen Evans

I want to take this time to let you know that May is Lupus Awareness month. It's important that everyone knows at least a little about this disease so that they can recognize and treat it. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can attack any part of the body, and the signs and symptoms tend to last from just a a few weeks to years in some cases. Those with Lupus have complications with their immune system, which is crucial for fighting off viruses, bacteria, and germs. The illness can range from mild to life threatening and is not contagious, so it's impossible to "catch" Lupus from someone or "give" Lupus to someone. At least 1.5 million Americans of all ethnicities have Lupus, and while there is currently no cure, there are treatments and medications that help keep it under control.

You can find out more about Lupus here.

The National Kidney Foundation will be holding Kidney Walks all across the country to help raise money and awareness for this life-threatening illness. More then 26 million Americans, that's one in 9 people, suffer from some sort of kidney disease, which is why it's so important for everyone to get involved. This organization has been very close to me since I suffered my own kidney complications, and I encourage you all to spread the word so that more people can receive help and treatment

You can register for a walk in your state and learn more about kidney disease here.

It was truly an honor to be recognized during this year's Common Sense Media Awards in San Francisco last night. Common Sense Media is a non-profit organization that's dedicated to helping parents and teachers assist kids with improving their experience with media and technology. Previous honorees include former President Bill Clinton and George Lucas, so I'm humbled to be in such great company. You can see more pictures from the dinner below.
